About me, Tracy Silverman:

From a young age, classical training laid the foundation for my musical journey. However, as I ventured into adulthood, my musical curiosity propelled me beyond traditional boundaries.

Having been the pioneering force in progressive string playing, my journey led me to redefine the electric violin's role in contemporary music. My tenure as a distinguished alumnus of The Juilliard School and a former first violinist with the innovative Turtle Island String Quartet has been significant.

But it's my vision for the "future of strings" that inspired me to create the Strum Bowing method, bridging the classical with the contemporary, and fostering a global community of progressive string players through my Strum Bowing Groove Academy.

Now, as a faculty member at Belmont University, my mission continues as I nurture the next generation of string musicians, encouraging them to explore, to innovate, and to groove​​.
